Converting Fuel‐Synthesis Process Water to Aquaculture Feed by Purple Non‐Sulfur Bacteria

چکیده
The availability of agricultural wastewater in arid climes limits the possibility exploiting purple non-sulfur bacteria (PNSB) to recover aqua-feed bioproducts. Thus, this study examines feasibility recovering such bioproducts using fuel-synthesis process water (FSPW) as a feedstock. Experiments were performed under varying light conditions. results revealed that PNSB cultured zero-nitrogen feedstock had over 40 % protein content, contained substantial lipids and pigments, reduced FSPW organics by 70 %. intensity significantly impacted biomass constituents treatment efficiency. are promising for potential development circular economy convert aqua-feed.

Bacteriocin from Purple Nonsulfur Phototrophic Bacteria, Rhodobacter capsulatus
To find whether productivity of bacteriocin is controlled between different species under unusual cultural conditions, we used Rhodobacter capsulatus ATCC 17016 as a producer and Rhodopseudomonas palustris ATCC 17003 as an indicator. Rhodobacter capsulatus was cultured under aerobic conditions in the dark in Lascelles medium containing 0.3% Triton X-100. As a result, bacteriocin productivity in...
متن کاملAnaerobic growth of purple nonsulfur bacteria under dark conditions.
Purple nonsulfur photosynthetic bacteria were cultured anaerobically in the absence of light by a modification of the Hungate technique. Growth was slow and resembled that of fastidious anaerobes; on yeast extract-peptone-agar medium, each cell produced about 16 descendants in 15 to 20 days. Growth was stimulated by addition of ethyl alcohol, acetate and H(2), or pyruvate and H(2). Cells grown ...
متن کاملPhototrophic utilization of taurine by the purple nonsulfur bacteria Rhodopseudomonas palustris and Rhodobacter sphaeroides.
Taurine metabolism by two phototrophically grown purple nonsulfur bacteria enrichment isolates has been examined. Rhodopseudomonas palustris (strain Tau1) grows with taurine as a sole electron donor, sulfur and nitrogen source during photoautotrophic growth. Rhodobacter sphaeroides (strain Tau3) grows on the compound as sole electron donor, sulfur and nitrogen source, and partial carbon source,...
متن کاملRhodopseudomonas acidophila, sp. n., a new species of the budding purple nonsulfur bacteria.
A succinate-mineral salts medium of pH 5.2 provided selective enrichment conditions for Rhodomicrobium vannielii and for a new species belonging to the Athiorhodaceae, described herein as Rhodopseudomonas acidophila. Seven strains of the new species have been isolated from different sources in the United States and Germany. The cells are rod-shaped or ovoid, 1.0 to 1.3 mum wide and 2 to 5 mum l...
متن کاملPhotoresponses of the purple nonsulfur bacteria Rhodospirillum centenum and Rhodobacter sphaeroides.
We have measured the photoresponse of two purple nonsulfur bacteria, Rhodobacter sphaeroides and Rhodospirillum centenum, under defined conditions in a light beam propagating at 90 degrees to the optical axis of the microscope. This beam presented cells with a steep gradient of intensity perpendicular to the direction of propagation and a shallow gradient in the direction of light propagation. ...
